As Perdomo has done each decade since its founding, the company showcases what they are now capable of delivering to consumers after another ten years experience. The cigar at hand is the Perdomo 30th Anniversary, being offered in Connecticut, Sun Grown, and Maduro wrapper varieties. Here comes the kicker... Perdomo has aged all (not some, ALL) tobaccos within the Perdomo 30th Anniversary line for a whopping 15 years! Not only this, but the butterscotch-hued Connecticut wrapper has been finished in oak barrels that were formerly used to mature American bourbon.
With the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut, the blend boasts hearty Nicaraguan tobaccos from Perdomo's own farms of the Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa growing regions. The initial batch features leaves from the 2008 crop, which were carefully aged and finished in spent bourbon barrels. Finally, the cigars are topped with a stunning Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, making for a full-flavored, buttery experience of cedar, sweet almond, touches of white pepper, and sugary butterscotch through the finish.

MSMichel Schryer - Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Churchill (Verified buyer)As a long time smokker of the 10th Anniversary Champagne Churchill, I was anxious to taste the new 30th Anniversary Connecticut Churchill. I am not disappointed. Somewhat reminiscent of the Small Batch Reserve, I find this cigar stronger than the 10th Anniversary by about 25%. There is a lot of smoke and the mouth feel is pleasant. The wrapper and overall construction is superb and the cigar produces a strong dark gray ash. Missing is the vegetal initial taste of the 10th on lighting and I think that this is a good thing. I find the extra $3 a stick a bit too much. Were they the same price, I would gladly alternate between the two. My tastebuds aren’t sophisticated enough to pick out leather or pepper or whatever, but I can say that this is a successful assembly of quality tobaccos. Four Stars. Five if priced like the 10th.
