Sobremesa Brûlée by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust
In 2015, premium cigar guru, Steve Saka, returned to the forefront of humidors across the country, debuting the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust brand. In the company's freshman year, only a single blend was offered—a sophisticated experience with heavy Nicaraguan influence, known as Sobremesa.
In the years following, the company has become known for a host of other smoking profiles, though the original Sobremesa remains just as prominent. With the brand now solidified in the repertoires of cigar enthusiasts, Saka made the decision to showcase a vintage-inspired Connecticut variation. Introducing the Sobremesa Brûlée by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, a meticulously crafted experience intended for the patient and perceptive palate.
Sobremesa Brûlée is assembled atop the tried 'n true chassis of the original Sobremesa cigar, but some tweaks have been made to accommodate the blend's updated Connecticut Shade wrapper. This includes the removal of Pennsylvania ligero in the cigar's filler and an increase of Nicaraguan Condega seco. The end result features an all-Nicaraguan filler, a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder, and a top-shelf grade of BW Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. The cigar is well-constructed, showcasing a pleasing draw and smoke output, bringing soft and nuanced flavors of buttered nuts, cream, nougat, grits, and black tea.
