Industry veteran Steve Saka is back with another tantalizing smoking experience from his very own Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. The cigar is dubbed “Mi Querida”, which translates to “My Dearest” in Spanish, but there’s a little more to it than that… it’s a phrase used to refer to a person’s secret mistress. Fans of HBO’s The Sopranos are more familiar with the Italian version: Gumar (although even a gumar isn’t always a secret…).
Enough backstory, let’s get down to the nitty gritty, which, “gritty” just so happens to be the perfect adjective for this new smoking experience. Steve is well known for his work with the famed Liga Privada blends and fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of such a blend from his new venture. Cigar enthusiast’s wishes have been granted with Mi Querida. A dark and toothy, Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper is draped over Nicaraguan binder and fillers, making for a bold and gritty experience, filled with in-your-face flavors of earth, pepper spice, leather, and smoky hickory.
