Brick House Maduro

The history of the Brick House brand goes all the way back to pre-embargo Cuba, where it started as a clear Havana-style cigar made by J.C. Newman more than 80 years ago. Clear Havana cigars were made in the USA using Cuban tobacco before the Cuban embargo. The name Brick House was inspired by the childhood home of Julius Caeser Newman, which happened to be the only house made out of bricks in his family's small Hungarian village. This was a place for all the people of the village to come together to eat, drink, smoke cigars, and enjoy each other's company.

Eighty years after that cigar hit the shelves, Julius Caeser Newman's grandsons, Eric and Bobby Newman, decided to bring back the brand to honor their grandfather. This time around, it would use Nicaraguan tobacco, starting with a Havana Subido wrapper, accompanied by Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The Brick House Maduro, released three years later, uses the same binder and filler as the original Brick House cigar, swapping the Havana wrapper for a dark and sinister Brazilian Arapiraca leaf. This maduro version is meant to be a bit stronger and spicer than the natural version, so you can expect a medium to medium-full-bodied smoke with a touch of sweetness.
