Joya de Nicaragua Antano Connecticut
The Antaño CT is Joya de Nicaragua's response to the growing demand for a Connecticut-wrapped addition to the wildly popular Antaño series. Joya first debuted the Antaño 1970 cigar in 2001, so named yesteryear as a throwback to the company's glory days of the 1970s. This cigar was a Nicaraguan puro that boosted strength levels to all-time highs, laying the groundwork for the full-bodied preferences of today's cigar enthusiast.
When Joya set out to craft a Connecticut-wrapped alternative to the legendary Antaño, they knew they were in for a difficult task, toeing the line between the smooth nature of Connecticuts and the high-intensity of Antaño. To accomplish this, the master blenders at the historic Joya de Nicaragua factory in Nicaragua spent countless hours tweaking the blend for the optimal balance between strength and refinement, eventually landing on an all-Nicaraguan binder/filler and a flawless Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. This concoction maintains high levels of body and flavor without overshadowing the mild-mannered Connecticut wrapper. That being said, the Antaño CT does burn at a notch (or three) higher in strength than Connecticuts of old, boasting a medium-plus body and zesty flavor characteristics of white pepper, lemon zest, salted caramel, toasted cedar, nuts, and loads upon loads of cream through the finish.
Joya de Nicaragua defined the full-bodied profile with the original Antaño, and they've done it again with the Antaño CT, setting the standard for the modern Connecticut!
