West Tampa Tobacco White represents Rick Rodriguez’s return to his roots; both personal and professional. After decades at the helm of CAO, Rodriguez partnered with Gus Martinez to launch West Tampa Tobacco Company, a brand that pays tribute to the neighborhood where his family found new beginnings after leaving Cuba in the 1950s.
The cigars are rolled out of the Garmendia Cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, featuring an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder from Ometepe and filler from Condega and Estelí. It’s the lighter, more nuanced counterpart to the bolder West Tampa Black, offering a balanced, medium-bodied profile built around classic Habano spice.
Expect flavors of toasted cedar, cabinet spice, wheat, and a touch of saltiness on the finish. Smooth, approachable, and easy to enjoy any time of day, West Tampa White captures the spirit of a brand that’s deeply personal yet made to be shared.
