While most premium tobacco is grown in valleys, this blend pulls from fields 3,500 feet up in the mountains of Nicaragua’s Condega region, grown on a farm with deep family roots. That farm, Finca San Julián, once belonged to Melalina Torres, Nestor Andrés Plasencia’s grandmother. Lost in 1961 and reclaimed decades later, it now yields some of the most distinctive tobacco in the Plasencia portfolio.

Rolled with all-Nicaraguan tobacco, including filler grown on that high-altitude farm, Alma del Cielo (which translates to <em>Soul of the Sky</em>) is finished with a silky wrapper from Jalapa. Cooler nights and stronger sun at elevation shape the tobacco’s flavor, producing a cleaner, more refined profile. Crafted entirely by the Plasencias and rolled to their exacting standards, this is a medium-bodied cigar with serious character.

Expect notes of cream, cedar, citrusy coffee bean, and toasted spice layered over a soft earthiness, with a smooth draw and a long, elegant finish. As the fourth entry in the beloved Alma series, Alma del Cielo is a high-altitude treat for the connoisseur.
