Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel Aged Sungrown
The art of cigarmaking, at least as we know it today, dates back roughly two hundred years. This means that, like other time-honored crafts such as winemaking and whiskeymaking, the cigarmaking process leaves little room for new innovations and techniques. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
And then comes Nick Perdomo Jr. and his acclaimed Perdomo Cigars brand, changing things up with an added fermentation process... Yes, many of Perdomo's top-tier cigars make use of an additional tobacco-processing step, re-fermenting the leaves in used bourbon barrels before being rolled. This process is on full display with the Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel-Aged line, featuring a collection of three wrapper styles: Sun Grown, Maduro, and Connecticut.
With the Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sun Grown, the cigars consist of all-nicaraguan tobaccos that have been aged for a minimum of six years. These leaves are surrounded by a six-year aged Nicaraguan sun-grown wrapper, which is aged for an additional 10 months in spent bourbon barrels before joining the supporting cast! This makes for a rich smoking experience, filled with long-lasting flavors of oak, red pepper, zesty cabinet spices, and sweet candied nuts.
