Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada
There are cylindrical cigars, box-pressed cigars, cigars shaped like No. 2 pencils... and then there is the Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edición Limitada, which is almost like a liquid eye dropper tool out of a science fiction laboratory... Similarities aside, the Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary cigar is a special project for the Olivas, commemorating family patriarch, Melanio Oliva, and the year he first began growing tobacco in Cuba. To mark the occasion, Oliva blended a unique size of the company's acclaimed Oliva Serie V cigar, boasting the same recipe of all-Nicaraguan binder/filler and a ruddy Ecuadorian wrapper.
Only 15,000 boxes of 12 cigars have been produced, presented in special boxes that display the cigars in a fanned-out shape to accentuate the cigar's format. This 5½" x 54 size has a traditional parejo feel from the head to nearly two-thirds down, where a dramatic taper closes out the foot. In terms of smoking, this allows for a concentrated start to the cigar, gradually evolving throughout the first inch and a half. This makes for a medium-full body and standout complexities of oak, red pepper, classic leather, and an underlying brown sugar sweetness.

JMJames McCue - Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada PerfectoPurchased one of these on a whim. Not the best oliva out there but an interesting and complex smoke. Not as full as a v melanio but as a stand alone it has a great profile. The Perfecto vitola also gives it a ton of flavor being released through the entire smoke.

JCJohn Caro - Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada PerfectoGood release from Oliva. Notes of spice, pepper and cedar along with a nice sweetness keep you drawing. Smoked about 6 of these and each one had some minor burn issues that was solved with a small touchup here and there which is the reason for the 3 stars. Buy a 5 pack and try it. If you like the Melanio, you'll like this one.
