Montecristo Epic Vintage 12
The original Montecristo Epic cigar first hit humidor shelves in 2012, setting the stage for a new era of the world-renowned Montecristo brand through the use of vintage tobaccos and a more bold smoking profile than had been seen from Montecristo before. In the years following, the Epic sub-brand has seen select new additions, now including a special recipe that includes nine-year aged tobaccos.
Introducing the Montecristo Epic Vintage 12, an ultra-premium blend that is patiently crafted at the Tabacalera de Garcia factory in the Dominican Republic. Staying true to the Epic's theme of vintage leaf, Montecristo Epic Vintage 12 boasts an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Dominican binder, and fillers of Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic (harvested from a 2012 crop). These leaves were grown by the industry's leading agronomists, including the Plasencia family in Nicaragua and José Mendez & Co. in the Dominican Republic (the latter supplying Montecristo with tobacco since the brand's emigration from Cuba).
This is an exquisite combination of tobaccos, producing a complex profile that is delivered through a medium body. Flavors are long-lasting on the palate, showing highlight notes of aromatic florals, clean cedar, zesty nutmeg, cellar must, and sweet brown sugar.
