La Aurora 1985 Maduro
In 2016, La Aurora Cigars capitalized on the company's rich heritage, operating as the first and oldest factory in the Dominican Republic. With such a long history, the company benefits from the many trials, errors, and gained knowledge over time. In many instances, risks had to be taken, venturing to experiment with new tobacco varietals throughout La Aurora's prized blends. La Aurora's Time Capsule series centers each unique cigar on one such tobacco, denoting the brand by the first year that the given tobacco varietal was first used at the famed La Aurora factory.
The fourth cigar in the Time Capsule series is La Aurora 1985 Maduro, so named for the cigar's dark Brazilian maduro wrapper. This featured leaf is then joined by fillers and binder of both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Smokers can expect to find the most full-bodied offering in the Time Capsule collection, showing a syrupy concoction of Hershey's chocolate, maple, earth, and clove-like spice.
