Foundation Highclere Castle Victorian
In 2019, Nick Melillo, owner and master blender of Foundation Cigar Co., went and hopped the pond for the second time, introducing the Highclere Castle Victorian cigar. Highclere Castle Cigar Co. is the collaborative effort between Foundation and the 8th Earl of Carnarvon, showcasing smoking experiences not unlike those that would've been enjoyed by guests of the regal Highclere Castle estate during the Victorian era.
The Victorian cigar is a bolder multinational blend of tobaccos in comparison to its counterpart, the Highclere Castle Edwardian. Cloaked in a dark and oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, and donning a crimson and gold foil band, the Highclere Castle Victorian makes sure there is no question it’s a cigar worthy of being enjoyed by nobility. This hearty leaf surrounds a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and all-Nicaraguan fillers, being simultaneously robust and sophisticated.
The Highclere Castle Victorian cigar is rolled at the famed Tabacalera A.J. Fernández factory, located in Estelí, Nicaragua. The elegant Victorian delivers notes of sweet nougat, cinnamon, and cedar in a well-balanced, medium-bodied smoke.
