Ferio Tego Metropolitan Host
The Metropolitan Selection was first released by Nat Sherman during the great cigar boom of the early '90s, offering a duo of Dominican smoking experiences that highlighted the company's timeless NYC heritage. These cigars were later joined by a Nicaraguan blend (Metropolitan Habano), and eventually merged with the Honduran-made Host Selection, now known as the Metropolitan Host.
As the Nat Sherman era sadly came to a close in 2020, due to the pandemic, former vice president, Michael Herklots, rescued these fan-favorite cigars (as well as all Nat Sherman cigars), taking them under his own Ferio Tego company. As such, the Metropolitan Host cigars have gone on without a hitch, maintaining the original blend and sizes. This includes a flawless Connecticut Shade wrapper, Honduran binder, and Honduran fillers, with production being handled by Camacho's contemporary Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory in Danlí, Honduras.
The Metropolitan Host is a classic smoke representative of the clean characteristics of old-school Connecticuts. Expect a mild-plus body, showing a soft texture and nuanced flavors of cedar, buttered crackers, sage, and cream through the finish.
