Crowned Heads Juarez
Those familiar with Crowned Heads know that a large portion of the company's cigars are themed around rock and country music, drawing inspiration from the company's base of Nashville, TN. This includes sister projects Jericho Hill and Juárez, both dressed in black and themed after Johnny Cash’s hit track, “Cocaine Blues,” from the 1968 album, At Folsom Prison.
The Jericho Hill cigar arrived in 2014, quickly rising to become one of Crowned Heads' most sought-after releases. But there was increasing demand for a more affordable alternative, which eventually arrived in 2018 as Juárez. To accomplish the task, Crowned Heads moved production from My Father Cigars to the then-little-known Tabacalera Pichardo factory. Like Jericho Hill, Juárez features a dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper; but the binder/fillers change course, using an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and fillers of Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
What's most important is that Juárez manages a similar level of rich flavor and dependable craftsmanship, all the while being priced for the everyman. Crowned Heads Juárez clocks in at medium-full in body and full in flavor, bringing standout components of black pepper, punchy cocoa, oak, and plenty of cream through the finish.
