Crowned Heads CHC Serie E
The Crowned Heads Court Reserve Serie E (AKA CHC Serie E) is the latest in a long line of music/rock-themed releases from Crowned Heads. Being based in the "Music City" of Nashville, Crowned Heads has tipped the hat at their favorite artists since the very beginning, going back to OG releases such as Four Kicks (Kings of Leon), Headley Grange (Led Zeppelin), and Jericho Hill (Johnny Cash).
But the CHC Serie E cigar is more specific, being themed around Eddie Van Halen's legendary "Eruption" (there's your "E") guitar solo. In fact, company co-founder Jon Huber compares the entire smoking experience to the solo's complex journey. Everything, from the cutting/lighting (drum and bass intro), to the heart of the flavor profile (mixing of triads and harmonics), to the cigar's finish (the bottoming-out dive bombs) correlates between smoke and solo! This reminds us of syncing up Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon with The Wizard of Oz back in the day!
To accomplish such a bold journey of smoke and sound, Crowned Heads partnered with the burgeoning Tabacalera Pichardo factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. A dark Ecuadorian Habano oscuro wrapper was secured over a Jalapan binder and all-Nicaraguan fillers, including the rarely used Pueblo Nuevo region. The smoke is smooth yet flavorful, bringing out notes that will cling to the palate like Van Halen's melodic masterpiece in your head. Cocoa, earth, classic leather, dark coffee... yeah, you're going to want to stock up.
