Byron Cigars
The Byron cigar brand is a super-premium offering from Nelson Alfonso and his Selected Tobacco company. Aside from the company's high quality standards, Selected Tobacco is known for their distinctly Cuban-esque branding. This is not by mistake, as Alfonso has been responsible for many Cuban cigars and luxury accessory designs in recent years, including the famed Cohiba Behike BHK.
With the Byron cigar, Alfonso pays homage to the original Lord Byron brand, which was co-created by Alfonso’s great-great-great-grandfather in Cuba circa 1850. As the original brand maintained an impressive 80-year run, and the modern rendition picks up the torch for the modern generation, Alfonso celebrates the brand's three centuries by offering Byron in three categories: Byron Siglo XIX, Byron Serie Siglo XX, and Byron Serie Siglo XXI.
While each version of the Byron differs in performance, the collective line shares a theme of elegance and refinement. Hand crafted at the Tabacos de Costa Rica factory, Byron cigars generally operate in the medium-bodied gamut, with long-lasting complexities ranging from cedar and gentle spice to notes of citrus, nougat, and even ginger snap cookies.
