2012 by Oscar Barber Pole
Released as the first brand from Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co., the 2012 by Oscar tied into the infamous Mayan calendar, which predicted the end of the world to be on Dec. 12, 2012. When the cigars first launched, the "end of the world" had not yet come, meaning the cigars were intended to be smoked as your last cigar on earth during that fateful day... :-)
Thankfully, the world didn't end, but Oscar continues the 2012 by Oscar series to this day. This includes the original 2012 by Oscar Connecticut, Corojo, and Maduro cigars, as well as the more limited 2012 by Oscar Barber Pole addition. This intoxicating beauty makes use of a dual wrapper of Mexican San Andrés maduro and candela tobaccos, winding down each cigar to resemble a classic barber pole. These leaves are joined by a Nicaraguan binder and fillers of Nicaragua and Honduras. As you might expect, the cigar boasts an atypical profile, offering up a medium body and standout flavors of black pepper, lemon grass, freshly tilled soil, and aromatic floral sweetness.

I found the ones I let rest for over 6 months in my humidor made these come to life! The Honduran filler give this cigar wondeful almost sweet notes that are best enjoyed in the retro-hale. None of the earthy hay notes are overpowering and makes for a relaxing smoke where I find myself constantly staring at the barber-pole wrappers in enjoyment. Do yourself a favor a grab a 5 pack and let some rest for a few months before you smoke through all of them.

With a Nicaraguan binder and fillers of Nicaragua and Honduras. This smoke is a Medium smoke, i got some black pepper, but didnt get so much lemon grass. Some people say freshly tilled soil, but more like a fresh flower after being frtalized if you cath my drift. Not the best barber pole I've ever had but great smoke overall.
